Importer or manufacturer in Japan shall comply with the technical requirements. Two sets of technical requirements are stipulated by the law. Importer or manufacturer shall comply with either 1) or 2) methods.

1) “Paragraph1” of technical requirements This set comprises the original Japanese (domestic) technical requirements.

2) “Paragraph 2” of technical requirements. This set consists of requirements harmonized with international standards, such as IEC standards and CISPR including the Japanese deviations.

Appendix-1	Cables and Flexible cords including Floor heating cables	Rubber insulated cables, Plastic insulated cables, cable, cord etc.
Appendix-2	Conduit tubes, Floor ducts, Line troughs and their accessories	Metal conduits, Metal couplings, Metal normal bends etc.
Appendix-3	Fuses	Thermal links, Link fuses, Tubular fuses etc.
Appendix-4	Wiring devices	Tumbler switches, Switches in flexible cord, Remote control relays, Cutout switches etc.
Appendix-5	Current limiters	Meter rate current limiters, Flat rate current limiters etc.
Appendix-6	Small single-phase transformers and Ballasts for discharge lamps	Transformers for toys,·Other household appliance transformers, Ballasts for fluorescent lamps, Ballasts for mercury vapor lamps and ballasts for other high pressure discharge lamps etc.
Appendix-7	Small AC motors	Repulsion start induction motors, Split-phase start induction motors,Capacity-start induction motors etc.
Appendix-8	AC Appliances and machines, Transportable engine generators	Electric heated toilet seats,Electric hot cupboards, Electric foot warmers, Electric slippers etc.
Appendix-9	Li-Ion Secondary Batteries	Lithium-ion batteries
Appendix-10	Radio Noise
Appendix-11	Upper limits of usage temperatures for insulating materials
Appendix-12	IEC-based standards

Compliance with Technical requirements？

Importer or manufacturer in Japan should ensure compliance with either “Paragraph 1” technical requirements or “Paragraph 2” technical requirements. Each technical requirement should not be combined or applied partially.
